to copy VHS tapes to DVD or CD. It also gives you the option of
backing up and
copying playstation games and copying DVDs to CDs or DVDs that you
can watch in your home dvd player. DVD Detective supports copying DVDs
to VCD, SVCD, and DivX.
Ease of use:
Althought DVD Detective comes with a
step-by-step eGuide that visually walks you through the
process of copying your VHS tapes and DVDs with your computer, you are required to
follow many steps which can be quite complicated for some people.
You are also required to download additional programs. Its more
like an e-book or tutorial.
Quality:
The quality provided by DVD
Detective depends whether you are copying to DVD or CD. The DVD
quality is very good while the CD quality is good, just not as
good. Also, when copying to CD in most cases you cannot fit
the entire contents onto a single CD, requiring you to split it into
2 CDs.
Support:
DVD Detective provides email
support and in which they are usually good to get back with you
within a day or 2.
Overview:
DVD Detective is one of the few Software that allows you to copy
VHS tapes and DVDs to CDs or DVDs. It's
also one of the cheapest software available. It does require you
to download additional programs and you must follow quite a list
of steps to complete the burning process which I feel is too
difficult for some people. However, it will do all that it claims,
it's just not near as easy to use as our top choices.
